Indiana women fall to DePaul in tourney

The Indiana University women’s basketball team fell to DePaul 84-69 in the semifinals of the 2015 Preseason WNIT tournament on Thursday night at McGrath-Phillips Arena.

The teams traded leads until the Hoosiers opened a 15-10 lead in the first quarter at the 4:38 mark.

However, the Blue Devils were able to hold the Hoosiers to just two points the final 2:30.

The Hoosiers led 21-20 after the first quarter.

The Blue Devils outscored the Hoosiers 22-18 in the second quarter and 42-30 in the second half to capture the victory.

Amanda Cahill led the Hoosiers with 15 points and eight rebounds.

Tyra Buss added 10, and Karlee McBride finished with 10 points off the bench of the Hoosiers.

The Blue Devils (3-0) won the turnover battle 23-13 and outrebounded the Hoosiers 35-32.

The Hoosiers (2-1) defeated Tennessee State 88-56 and No. 24 Chattanooga 55-43 en route to the semifinals to open the season.

No. 5 Baylor will host DePaul at 3 p.m. Sunday for the WNIT preseason title game.

The Bears (3-0) defeated No. 19 USF 66-63 in a semifinals bout.

On Nov. 24, the Hoosiers will travel to Fort Wayne to play IPFW.
