Jackson County GAL/CASA’s fourth annual mystery dinner theater will be Jan. 16 at The Pines Evergreen Room south of Seymour.

Everyone is invited to the “you-solve-it mystery dinner theater” production of “Big Rock in Little Rock.” With a cast of local “celebrities,” those attending will try to solve the murder mystery to win the $250 first-place prize.

Tickets are $25 per person or corporate tables are available. Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. There also will be a silent auction throughout the evening, and a cash bar will be available.

Jackson County GAL/CASA is a nonprofit volunteer-powered program that provides advocacy to child victims of abuse and neglect to ensure that they remain at the forefront of the court proceedings and find a safe, permanent home as quickly as possible, according to a news release.

In 2014, volunteers donated more than 2,200 hours advocating for more than 100 abused and neglected children in Jackson County.

Currently, there are more than 80 children waiting for an advocate. The goal is that all children who are victims of abuse or neglect will have a court-appointed special advocate volunteer to give them a voice and help find safe, loving, permanent homes as quickly as possible.
