What is your workout schedule?
“I usually work out Monday through Saturday with an active recovery day on Wednesday and a rest day on Sunday.”
What is your favorite workout to do and why?
“My favorite workout is ‘Annie,’ which is a combination of sit-ups and double under jump ropes, my two favorite movements.”
Where do you work out, and what do you like about that place?
“I work out at 812 CrossFit in Columbus. I love working out there because my coach, Nicole Holcomb, is very inspiring and constantly teaching us new things and pushing us to be our best. It’s a great community of people who have become a second family.”
What do you eat or avoid eating to be healthy?
“My husband and I follow flexible dieting. We focus on eating a lot of lean protein, veggies and slow-digesting carbs, like rice. What I love about flexible dieting is that it also allows us to sometimes eat fun stuff, like Pop-Tarts or ice cream, in moderation.”
What are your fitness goals?
“Right now, I really want to get a muscle up. But my overall goal is to just get stronger and healthier so that I can be active for the rest of my life.”
What is a fitness goal that you have achieved that you’re proud of?
“I am proud that I have gotten stronger through CrossFit and that no matter how hard a workout is, I know I can finish it.”
Are you currently training for any type of event, such as a marathon, triathlon, etc.?
“I’m not specifically training for an event right now.”
How does exercising make you feel?
“Exercising makes me feel really strong and like I can do anything that I set my mind to.”
What is your advice to encourage others to exercise?
“You have to start somewhere. Everyone is capable of doing some type of exercise, and you just have to get up and try.”
