Seymour cruises past Madison

MADISON — The Seymour swim teams opened their season Tuesday night with easy wins at Madison.

The Seymour girls won 134-35, and the boys defeated the Cubs 121-41.

Seymour loses 1st match

BLOOMINGTON — The Seymour wrestling team fell to Bloomington North 45-25 on Tuesday.

The Owls (5-1) will host Southwestern on Dec. 1.

BOWLING

Seymour hosts match

SEYMOUR — The Seymour boys and girls bowling teams didn’t drop a matchup at Kingpin’s Starlite Bowl on Saturday.

The boys defeated Bloomington North 17-3 (1,621 pins to 1,474) in their first contest.

Trace Cooper bowled a 192, Colton Hayes had 191 and 180, Logan Hayes rolled 169 and Austin Barr finished with 157.

In their second match, the boys defeated South Ripley 17-3 (1,832 to 1,796 pins).

Cooper was the high man with 242, Colton Hayes had 201, Logan Hayes managed 200, Barr amassed 177 and Jacob Silence tallied 174.

On the girls side, Seymour tied first match against Madison at 10 points with 1,411 total pins.

SHS’ Hannah Kaufman led with 206 pins, Rachel Kaufman had 168, Brittanie Keihn notched 166 and Madison Brackemyer added 156.

In their second match, Semour bested Bedford 17-3 (1,510 to 1,239 pins).

Hannah Kaufman again led SHS with frames of 231 and 186, Rachel Kaufman bowled a 204 and 167 and Brackemyer finished with 173.
