Spell Bowl

If you weren’t looking at it right now, could you spell the word Fahrenheit or tonsillitis — what about chrysanthemum? Those were a few of the words local area elementary schools students were asked to spell last week during the annual Spell Bowl at Seymour-Jackson Elementary School.

Spell Bowl is a team spelling bee style event. Each school sends forwards one student who has to write out a word said to them by Kellie Reinhart, the reader and master of the ceremony for the event. The correct spelling was then given and scores were marked, after ten rounds of students, each with 10 words the final scores were announced.

The Spell Bowl had three different divisions, with Immanual Lutheran, Margaret R. Brown Elementary and Crothersville Elementary the divisions.
