Douglas “Doug” W. Collins, 68, of Seymour passed away Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, at Seymour Crossing.

Born Sept. 13, 1947, in Hancock County, Tennessee, he was the son of John and Irene Collins Darkies, both of whom preceded him in death.

Doug graduated from Medora High School in 1965. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925 and American Legion Post 89, both in Seymour. He enjoyed playing pull tabs and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include his sister, Margie Darkies of Freetown; stepbrothers, Clifford (June) Darkis and Chuck (Evelyn) Darkis, both of Medora; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Darkies.

A graveside service will be conducted at a later date at Weddleville Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre in Seymour.
