Students get first-hand career advice

Crothersville High School students recently participated in a career exploration activity at the school.

Representatives from Rose Acre Farms, Cummins Inc., Aisin USA Mfg. Inc., Kremers Urban Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Wal-Mart Distribution Center answered students’ questions about careers at their facilities, job opportunities, what they manufactured and various other career questions related to their industry.

This was the first year for the event, which was organized by Jackson County Industrial Development Corp. in cooperation with the school’s U.S. history, junior/senior English and ag business management classes.

“Our goal was to broaden the perspective of what students thought of manufacturing facilities in Jackson County and see how they could incorporate their career objectives with a local business,” said Linda Begley, Crothersville agriculture teacher.
