Courtney Ann Smallwood, 39, of Seymour passed away Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour with family surrounding her bedside.

Born Oct. 12, 1976, in Seymour, she was the daughter of David R. Malone and Cheryl Ann Beineke. On Feb. 10, 2001, in Vero Beach, Florida, she married Eric H. Smallwood.

A graduate of Seymour High School, Courtney attended Browns Corner Chapel in Scipio. She had worked at Pottschmidt Flowers and loved arranging flowers. She also worked as a certified nursing assistant and home health aide at Hoosier Christian Village and Adaptive Home Health. She loved helping other people and spending time with her abundance of friends. She also enjoyed music, especially singing.

Survivors include her husband, Eric, of Seymour; daughter, Katharyn Elizabeth Smallwood; parents, David and Pam Malone and Cheryl Beineke, all of Seymour; grandparents, Lowell Beineke and Richard and Sue Linscott; in-laws, Leona K. Smallwood and Francis E. Smallwood; siblings, Shawn (Jennifer Oliver) Malone, Chad (Yenny) Malone, Suzann (Dirk) Sorensen and David Malone; friend, Autumn Boling; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred and Rosemary Malone and Pat Beineke.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre in Seymour with Pastor Steve Barrett officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of service Tuesday.

Burial will be at a later date at Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
