Co-op seeking exception for project

Jackson County Board of Zoning Appeals plans to meet at 7:30 p.m. today to consider two requests related to an expansion project at Jackson-Jennings Co-op in the Seymour area.

The firm is seeking a special exception to allow for a 70-by-131-foot addition to a dry fertilizer building at 6905 N. 400E in Hamilton Township. The request received a favorable recommendation from the county plan commission Nov. 17.

A variance for setbacks from 300 feet to 183 feet on the right side of the building to comply with county ordinance also is being sought. That request did not require action by the plan commission.

Board meetings, conducted at the Jackson County Plan Commission office at 202 E. Walnut St., Brownstown, are open to the public and press.
