The next event at Hamacher Hall in Crothersville is the program “Getting Ready for Christmas,” to be presented by the Crothersville Town Players at 6 p.m. Friday.

This program will be presented as a dinner theater and conclude with a Christmas auction of donated items to raise funds for Hamacher Hall, the former Presbyterian church at 211 E. Howard St.

Dinner will consist of potato soup, ham salad sandwiches, drinks and dessert. The cost for the the dinner theater is $10. For children younger than 10, it’s $5.

After dinner, the show will begin. A skit, “At the Post Office,” adapted from an old Erma Bombeck column, will begin, followed by “Christmas Letters” from two well-known ladies. Then comes a poem, “Jest ‘Fore Christmas!” and finally a selection, “Ready, Set, Go…” emphasizing the birth of Jesus Christ.

Donations of items for the auction still are being accepted. Anyone wishing to donate items should call Linda Seals at 812-793-2322 or Brenda Holzworth at 812-793-2760.

Those attending the event also will notice and be able to use the new ramp and steps, which have just been constructed, thanks to a generous monetary gift.

Crothersville Historical and Cultural Arts Association exists to encourage area residents to explore and appreciate Crothersville history and to enjoy and participate in the visual and performing arts.

All funds received by the organization are used for the expenses of operating and improving the facilities of Hamacher Hall and the annex building. Monetary contributions are tax deductible.
