The annual Christmas dinner of the Loyal Devoir Society of Central Christian Church in Seymour was Dec. 1 at The Pines with 45 members and guests attending.

Loretta Riehl gave devotions entitled “Gifts,” which was taken from Luke 2:7. A prayer followed. A smorgasbord was served.

Shirley Reichenbacker and Patty Elmore chaired the planning committee, and Lois Gueter created the program booklet. Paula Kemp and Amy Hart, accompanied by Mary Sentz on the keyboard, presented the entertainment.

Cindy Bach announced the 2016 officers. They are Lucy Dembek, president; Betty Guinn, treasurer; Carolyn Bruce, vice president; and Judy McDonald, secretary. Dembek gave roses to the new officers.

Paula Stafford distributed gifts to this year’s officers.

The society also met Nov. 24. The treasurer’s report was given by Guinn, and the minutes were read, and both were approved.

Reichenbacker gave the sales report in the absence of Bonnie Koontz.

The group voted to add Emma Aikman, Jane Coryell, Ruth Sweany and Rachel Findley to the list of honorary members.

Dembek gave devotions and ended it in prayer.

Both meetings were closed with the Mizpah Benediction.
