Book groups to discuss novels

Adults and teens are invited to attend free Jackson County Public Library book discussion group meetings this month.

The books are available to check out at the library checkout desks.

Fantastic Fictioneers will express their thoughts about “A Fool’s Gold Christmas” by Susan Mallery at 11 a.m. Friday at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.

Fool’s Gold, California, welcomes two new residents, dancer Evie Stryker and lawyer Dante Jefferson. Evie promises to stage the winter festival and conducts rehearsals above Dante’s office. He confronts her about the noise over his head, and magic happens.

Led by volunteers Ann Schwein and Sharon Kamman, this group meets the third Friday of each month. Attendees are invited to share Christmas snacks with the group.

The book discussion group at the Medora Library, 27 W. Main St., will meet at 6 p.m. Dec. 28 to talk about Louisa May Alcott’s “Little Women.” This romantic classic book tells the story of a Civil War-era family and how they coped with difficulties and successes.

Due to holiday hours, there will be no December book discussion at the Crothersville Library.
