NORTH VERNON

Lyndel R. Powers, 75, of North Vernon died at 7:09 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.

Survivors include a son, Mike Powers of Columbus; three daughters, Shari (Keven) Burton and Carla (Jeff) Wright, both of North Vernon, and Crystal (Chris) Stall of Columbus; two brothers, Charles Thomas Powers of North Vernon and Lynn Rarey of Florida; a sister, Ethel Mae Scott of Kentucky; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Thomas Dewayne Powers, Paul Powers and Lyndel Powers Jr.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Services in North Vernon.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday.

Burial with military graveside rites will be at Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.
