Ruth F. Foster, 87, of Seymour, passed away at 10:50 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.
Born July 16, 1928, in Crothersville, she was the daughter of Sampson D. Mitchell and Pansy Stone Mitchell, both of whom preceded him in death. On Dec. 2, 1944, in Crothersville, she married Wilbur Foster who preceded her in death on April 10, 2006.
Ruth was a member of First United Methodist Church in Seymour and was a beautician who owned and operated Fashion Tress Beauty Salon for 15 years. She was a past member of Seymour Country Club, Elks Club 462 in Seymour and Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include two grandsons, Steven Read of Vallonia and Jeffery Read of Seymour; a brother, John Mitchell of Locust Grove, Georgia; and two sisters, Martha Blair of Tampico and Jean Amick of Scottsburg.
Besides by her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Foster Read; a sister, Dorothy Pall; and three brothers, Garland Mitchell, the Rev. Garnett Mitchell and Ralph Mitchell.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Adams Family Funeral Home in Crothersville with burial at Crothersville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday.
