Donna Blackburn, 81, of Crothersville, passed away at 2:50 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Born March 28, 1934, in Wadsworth, Ohio, she was the daughter of Henry J. Klase and Eva Chapman Klase, both of whom preceded her in death. On Oct. 7, 1950, she married Charles E. Blackburn, who preceded her in death on May 5, 2005.

Donna retired from the former U.S. Shoe Corp., where she worked in the heel plant. She also retired from Hoosier Christian Village as a certified nursing assistant in 1999.

She was a member of Crothersville Church of the Nazarene, Crothersville Senior Citizens and Gideon International. Donna enjoyed reading and taking care of others.

Survivors include her four children, James E. (Ramona) Blackburn of Seymour, Charles J. (Peggy) Blackburn I of Crothersville, David E. (Connie) Blackburn of Austin, and Susan Gibson of Crothersville; seven grandchildren, Renee’ Wesley of Seymour, Holly Blackburn-Randall of St. Louis, Missouri, Charles J. Blackburn II, of Scottsburg, Matthew Blackburn of Suffolk, Virginia, Jeremy L. Gibson of Seymour, Amy Jo Gibson-Macer of Indianapolis, and Derek Blackburn of Columbus; 10 great-grandchildren, Zachariah and Josiah Wesley of Brownstown, Cameron and Connor Blackburn of Scottsburg, Ariel and Zoey Blackburn of Suffolk, Virginia, Adelyn, Jaxson, Faith and Calla Randall of St. Louis, Missouri; two sisters, Martha Williams of Akron, Ohio, and Carol Blackburn of Barberton, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Dalton, Jimmy, and Marlin Klase; and four sisters, Edna Wilson, Irene Bauer, Roberta Morrison and infant, Hazel Belle Klase.

Mark Wooten will conduct the funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Adams Family Funeral Home in Crothersville with burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday.

Memorial donations may be made to Crothersville Church of the Nazarene or Gideon International.
