High school, learning center set FASFA night

Seymour High School and the Jackson County Learning Center plan to conduct a free FAFSA Night from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Jackson County Learning Center, 323 Dupont Drive, Seymour.

The event is open to adult and high school students needing to complete their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the 2016-17 academic year.

Parents are encouraged to attend this event, as student aid experts will be available to provide information and answer questions.

Parents and students will learn how to complete FAFSA, which is required to determine eligibility for most student aid programs, including the Frank O’Bannon grant, Federal Pell grant, institutional awards and federal student and parent loans.

The deadline for submitting FAFSA is March 10, but applicants have until May 15 to make final corrections. That means if you used estimated tax information or if other information has changed (such as your address or email), you’ll need to log back in and make changes.

Families with questions about the free FAFSA Night should contact Sheana Harmon at Seymour High School by phone at 812-522-4384 or by email at [email protected].
