The Ladies Aid of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church met Dec. 3 for a brief meeting and a Christmas party.

President Kathy Cunningham opened the meeting by reading a story “God Delights in Jesus and in You.”

Joyce Stuckwisch gave the treasurer’s report and reported on visits to the sick and shut-in and nursing homes.

The funeral committee reported serving lunch to about 60 people after the Burgess funeral.

Members brought cookies for Frances Nichols and Cunningham to serve after the Dec. 9 Advent service.

A sign-up sheet for committees in 2016 was presented.

The meeting room was decorated with lighted trees, white tablecloths, candles, greenery, miniature sleighs and candy.

Pastor Jeffrey Patterson gave devotions, and then 12 members enjoyed a catered lunch, games and singing of Christmas carols. Each member donated canned soup for the food bank.

Thanks went to Ileen Nehrt and Bertie Roettger for planning the party.
