Jean S. Morris, 87, of Seymour, passed away at 6:34 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.

Born July 11, 1928, in Georgetown, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Floyd and Okal Jones Sargent, both of whom preceded her in death. On Aug. 21, 1949, in Lexington, Kentucky, she married the Rev. D.G. Morris, who passed away Jan. 16, 2012.

Jean was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Seymour. She was a homemaker and a receptionist at Voss and Sons Funeral Service for more than 25 years.

Survivors include her daughters, Deborah (Jim) Maynard and Pamela (Ray) Eakins; grandchildren, Ryan (Meredith) Eakins, Reagan Eakins, Brandon Maynard and Brianne Maynard; and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Jane Maynard.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Fredia S. Holland.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Voss Chapel in Seymour with Dr. William Bailey and the Rev. Bobby Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Monday.
