Dr. Ray Wallace, chancellor of Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, recently accepted the River Valley Financial Bank Expect a Difference Award.

The award recognizes organizations that have shown a leadership effort in promoting an atmosphere with an above and beyond attitude when it comes to customer service or serving their community.

IU Southeast has been a longtime member of southern Indiana in providing economic and educational growth to the area. In addition to providing an excellent educational environment, IU Southeast and its faculty have increased their role in the community as a whole, especially since Wallace’s arrival on campus, according to a news release from River Valley Financial Bank.

“Our campus and our students need to know and see the importance of living in a vibrant community,” Wallace said. “They can best experience that by seeing us, the faculty, setting the stage and examples of being an active component by the investment of our time and money.”

IU Southeast is a part of the Indiana University network with an enrollment of more than 2,000 students coming from nine regional counties.

River Valley Financial Bank is based in Madison and has 15 full-service bank locations. They include Madison, Hanover, Charlestown, Sellersburg, Floyds Knobs, New Albany, Dupont, North Vernon, Jeffersonville, Osgood and Seymour. Another office is located in Carrollton, Kentucky.
