Wilma Jean Miller, 85, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:56 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

Born Sept. 19, 1930, in Grammer, she was the daughter of Raymond and Lucille Shinolt Alexander, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 7, 1949, she married Richard L. Miller, who survives.

She graduated from North Vernon High School in 1948 and worked as a teller for 13 years at First National Bank. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Other survivors include three daughters, Janet (Don) Henry of Scipio, Linda (Jon) Passmore of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and Judy (Bob) Watts of North Vernon; a son, Richard (Sue) Miller of Greenville, Tennessee; a brother, Robert E. (Karen) Alexander; a sister-in-law, Shirley Alexander; 13 grandchildren, Chris Henry, Matt Henry, Ali (Chris) LaFlamme, Clint Wilhoit, Wendy (John) Baker, Victoria Passmore, Anthony Passmore, Shanan (Jason) Orrock, Sharon (Patrick) Norris, Jake Miller, Megan Traylor, Travis (Ana) Watts and Justin (Lisha) Watts; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Warren Alexander.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in North Vernon with the Rev. Marvin Sweet and the Rev. Joe Wyatt officiating. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.
