Young children and their parents are invited to welcome in the new year Thursday at a Happy Noon Year’s Eve event.

The party, organized by Jackson County Education Coalition’s pre-K initiative, starts at 10:30 a.m. at The Point Family Center, 311 Myers St., in Seymour.

There will be games, prizes, snacks and even a countdown leading to a balloon drop at noon featuring 500 balloons.

Games will be focused on children 2 to 8 years old. However, all ages are welcome.

A parent or guardian must remain with the child during the entire event.

There is no cost to attend the event, but donations will be accepted.
