Sandra Kaye Burton Whitis, 56, of Seymour, passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at her home.

Born Jan. 21, 1959 in Columbia, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Burton and Mary Rebecca Neat Birge, both of whom preceded her in death.

Sandra was a homemaker and loved to do and make arts and crafts. She was especially great at making quilts for all of her friend’s first born children and her nieces and nephews. She had a talent for interior decorating and loved to cook.

Survivors include her son, Jason Jaggers; her fiancé, Marty Ray Reynolds; three grandchildren, Decklen Jaggers, Ross Jones and Jewels Jones; two sisters, Kathy Boone and Sue Sallee; brothers, Rick Burton, Marshall Burton and Jerry Burton; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Voss Chapel with the Rev. Kelly Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service.
