Myrtle L. Arnold, 80, of Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown, and formerly of Leesville, died at 12:20 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at her residence.

Born April 14, 1935, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of William Guthrie and Molly Murphin Guthrie, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married to Robert Arnold, who preceded her in death in 1977.

Myrtle was a graduate of Medora High School. She was a homemaker and worked at Cummins in Walesboro and the plastics factory in Medora. She loved fishing and camping.

Survivors include five daughters, Tonia (David) Baker of Medora, Bobbi Boling of South Carolina, Goldie Barnes of Brownstown and Terri Temple and Peggy Booker, both of Seymour; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; four brothers, George Guthrie of Columbus, Art Guthrie of Leesville and Jim Guthrie and Stan Guthrie, both of Bedford; and a sister, Clara Deaton of Bedford.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Mike Guthrie, Joe Guthrie and Johnny Guthrie; and a sister, Gladys Guthrie.

The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hague Funeral Home in Medora with chaplain Paul Huddleston officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday.

Burial will be at Leesville Cemetery.
