Shirley A. Robinett, 79, a lifelong resident of Jackson County, passed away at 11:07 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.

Born Oct. 14, 1936, she was the daughter of John R. McKain and Bess Cockerham McKain, both of whom preceded her in death. In 1968, she married Delmar Robinett who also preceded her in death.

Shirley was a 1954 Brownstown High School graduate and a member of Brownstown Baptist Church. She owned the Seymour Frozen Food Locker for 25 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Jerilyn (Adrian “Tader”) Masters of Crothersville; five grandchildren, Jonathon (Ashley) Masters of Indianapolis, Katie Masters of Seymour, Lisa Robinett of Crothersville, Gina (Jeff) Shelton of Lexington, Kentucky, and Jill Johnson of Seymour; and a brother, Max McKain of Brownstown.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three infant children; two sisters, Catherine Critchlow and Ethel Jackson; nine brothers, Richard, Roscoe, Otis, Johnny, Roland, Dean, Jack, Dallas and infant, James Phillip; and a stepson, Delmar Robinett Jr.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville with the Rev. Scott Erwin officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday.

Memorials may be given to Brownstown Baptist Church or Crothersville United Methodist Church.
