William E. “Bill” Stewart, 64, of Paris Crossing passed away at 5 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at his niece’s home in Austin.

Born Nov. 12, 1951, in Seymour, he was the son of Merrill E. Stewart and Deloris Wible Stewart and his stepmother, Ruth Cockerham, all of whom preceded him in death.

Bill was a 1971 graduate of Seymour High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed hunting and looking for arrowheads, and most of all, he loved his dog, Buddy.

He was a free spirit who hitchhiked across the United States for 15 years.

Survivors include two brothers, Danny (Cami) Stewart of Lawrenceburg and Denton Bolin of Tennessee; five sisters, Connie Greathouse of Clearspring, Mary Colvin of Crothersville, Tammy Briggs of Fort Wayne, Regina Stewart of New Albany and Darla Frezzill of Hobart; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and stepmother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Cole.

Adams Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Crothersville handled cremation services.
