Roy Leon Coker, 82, of Crothersville passed away at 3:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg.

Born June 6, 1933, in Scott County, he was the son of Alba Roy Coker and Lola May Kennon Coker, both of whom preceded him in death. On May 30, 1969, he married Cora Belle Berkhead, who preceded him in death June 6, 2015.

Leon was a United States Army veteran, serving from 1953 to 1955, and was a member of Lighthouse Tabernacle Church, where he served as head usher. Leon retired from Cummins Engine Co. on Jan. 1, 1987.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Carol (Larry) Fletcher of Crothersville; two stepsons, Ed (Kathy Law) Solsberry of Deputy and Gary (Dottie Murray) Solsberry of Crothersville; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; a stepdaughter-in-law, Delores Solsberry of Scottsburg; two nieces; and a nephew.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three stepsons, infant Harlan Eugene Nichols, Fred Solsberry and James Solsberry; two sisters, Elizabeth and Emma Coker; and a brother, Albert Coker.

The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Adams Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Crothersville. Burial will follow at Crothersville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service Thursday.
