Science museum set for MLK holiday event

The WonderLab Museum of Science, Health and Technology in Bloomington will be open Jan. 18 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a program that encourages children to dream and explore future careers in science.

Science activities will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Visitors will have an opportunity to meet and talk one-on-one with a diverse group of Indiana University scientists, who will share their work and technology through hands-on activity stations set up throughout the museum.

Faculty members and graduate students in the fields of genomics, cellular biochemistry, microbial ecology, nanoscale materials science and virology will offer activities.

WonderLab’s Real Life Science: Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration is sponsored by IU Health Bloomington. Half-price museum admission of $4 for nonmembers will be in effect.

WonderLab is at 308 W. Fourth St., Bloomington.
