Brownstown Town Council’s president will retain his title for another year.

During Monday’s meeting, council members unanimously voted to keep John Nolting as president of the five-member board for 2016. He has had that title each year since 2011.

Bill Sweeney retained his position as vice chairman/pro tempore of the board.

Town council members also were assigned to commissions. They are Bethany Brewster, parks and recreation; Sweeney, cemetery; Matt Smith, wastewater; Nolting, street; and Sally Cate Lawson, police.

The council also appointed police Chief Tom Hanner to another four-year term. It started Jan. 1 and runs through Dec. 31, 2019. Hanner began with the department in 2006 and has been chief since 2011.

The town also retained Rodney Farrow as its attorney. He was first appointed in 2014.
