Allen D. Pogue, 87, of Medora, passed away at 12:58 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Born July 1, 1928, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Herbert T. and Cora Mae Campbell Pogue, both of whom preceded him in death. On April 22, 1952, he married Grace Annabelle McMahon, who preceded him in death. He then married Donna S. Speer McPherson on July 1, 2014, and she survives.

Allen was a United States Army veteran discharged in 1956. He had worked at Kieffer Paper Mill in Brownstown for more than 41 years. He was a graduate of Louisville Bible College. During his life, he pastored at Wrays Christian Church and at Sparksville and Norman. He was a member of Brownstown Christian Church.

Other survivors include his children, David (Karen) Pogue, Wanda (Bob) Holman, John (Kathryn) McPherson, Beverly (Bob) Davers and Penny (James) Hinderlider; a half sister, Reva (Jim) Nichols; a brother, Bob Pogue; two half brothers, Larry (Barb) Pogue and James Leslie (Margaret) Pogue; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Ilene Pogue; and a sister in-law, Sue Pogue.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home in Brownstown with Doug Pogue officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at White River Valley Cemetery in Medora.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday.
