Forty-five high school seniors from across the country and around the world, including two from Jackson County, recently participated in the Ben Franklin Scholars Program at Franklin College.

Franklin College awarded $881,500 in scholarships, which is a four-year total of $3,526,000.

Invited students visited campus from Nov. 30 to Dec. 4 to interview with Franklin College faculty and received consideration for academic scholarships, including the full-tuition Benjamin Franklin Scholarship totaling approximately $125,000 over four years.

After consideration of all of the candidates, the school announced that Mackenzie Taylor of Seymour High School had received a Founders Scholarship in the four-year amount of $72,000 and Madeline Lucas of Trinity Lutheran High School had received a Founders Scholarship in the four-year amount of $80,000.
