The Medora Community School Corp. board of trustees recently approved the 2016-17 school calendar.

The first day of school for teachers will be Aug. 8, and students will start Aug. 9.

School will not be in session Sept. 5 for Labor Day, Oct. 17 through 21 for fall break, Nov. 23 through 25 for Thanksgiving break, and Dec. 19 through Jan. 1 for Christmas break. The first semester ends Dec. 16.

The second semester will start Jan. 2. Built-in snow days are scheduled for Jan. 16, Feb. 20, April 21 and May 26.

In 2017, school won’t be in session March 20 through 24 for spring break and April 14 for Good Friday.

The last day of school for teachers and students is set for May 25, 2017, and commencement will be at 7:30 p.m. May 26, 2017, in the high school gymnasium.

If it is necessary, snow days will be used to make up student instructional days. Any additional days missed will be added to the end of the scheduled school year beginning May 30, 2017.
