NORMAN

Kenneth Ray Young, 78, of Norman, died at 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at his residence.

Born Jan. 4, 1938, in Illinois, he was the son of Ray and Esther Collins Young. On June 20, 1958, he married Glenda Butler who survives.

Kenneth retired from the die cast unit at General Motors after 28 years. He was a member of Oolitic Pentecostal Church.

Other survivors include three children, Berry Young, Marty (Sandy) Young and David Young, all of Norman; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Chad) Baum, Marty Glenn Young Jr., Ryan Young, Kenneth Young, Devon Young and Josie Young; four great-grandchildren, Coleton, Claire, Cosbee and Oakley; two sisters, Darlene Silence of Medway, Ohio, and Virginia Helton of Medora; and a brother, Paul Young of Seymour.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Robert and Charles.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Oolitic Pentecostal Church with Marty Speer officiating. Burial will follow in Guthrie Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Day & Carter Mortuary in Bedford and from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.
