Trinity player earns weekly honor
Maddie Roark of Trinity Lutheran High School has been named an Indiana Basketball Coaches Association/Subway Player of the Week for Jan. 11 through 16.
Roark, a sophomore, had two outstanding games last week as she scored 30 points with five rebounds, four assists and six steals in an 85-53 win against New Washington, and she followed that up with 44 points, four rebounds, five assists and eight steals in a 97-69 victory against South Decatur.
For both games, she made 24 of 34 shots, 7 of 10 3-pointers and 17 of 20 free throws.
The IBCA names a player of the week each week for each of the three districts in the state.
Roark and Romeo Langford of New Albany were the winners in District 3.
