Gamma Phi chapter of Tri Kappa met Jan. 5 at Larrison’s Diner in Seymour.

Social committee members Kim Cain and Heather Reedy arranged the meal and meeting.

President Ann Tormoehlen called the meeting to order. Reports by officers were given.

Ana DeGante from Seymour Community Schools spoke about Latino culture.

Corresponding secretary Sarah Reecer read a letter of request to go inactive from Haley Deckert, and members approved her request.

Program and project committee updates were given.

Mae Krumme thanked members for helping with the Anchor House and Girls Inc. holiday parties.

Kristin Bear shared possible options for this year’s Tri Kappa Week service project. Members discussed the options. A final determination will be made soon.

Cain spoke about the possibility of the chapter becoming involved with the Community Diner.

Birthdays for the month of January include Michal Leah Bevers, Sonya Collett, Jennifer Franklin, Krumme, Brandi Musgrave and Julie Putman.

The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Community Foundation of Jackson County. Members must have all fines paid in order to vote on new pledges.
