Police continue to look for a female who left shoes containing tobacco, methamphetamine and marijuana for an inmate at the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown.

The incident occurred at 10 p.m. Saturday when the female gave the shoes to jailer Daulton Anderson, according to a report from county Officer Adam Nicholson.

Jail regulations require an inspection of any item brought to an inmate, Nicholson said. During that inspection, Anderson reported smelling marijuana.

Anderson contacted Nicholson and county Officer Dustin Steward.

Officers cut into the tongue of the shoes and found three plastic bags of tobacco, a plastic bag of methamphetamine and two plastic bags of marijuana, Nicholson said.

Anyone with information about the female may contact the sheriff’s department at 812-358-2141.

Sgt. Stan Darlage and jail Commander Charlie Murphy also are assisting with the investigation.
