A local pizzeria plans to help Theta Omega chapter of Phi Beta Psi raise money for its annual cancer dance.

The Red Star Pizza Co., 1515 E. Tipton St., Seymour, will donate $2 from every large or extra large pizza order sold Thursday. Customers can obtain a flier with information about the fundraiser at the store or just mention they want to “Stand up to cancer” to help.

Every year in February, Theta Omega chapter conducts a fundraising event for its national project of cancer research. This event involves a dinner and dance in which local high school seniors vie for the queen title.

This year will be the 43rd year for the gala, which features a Hooray for Hollywood theme and is slated for Feb. 6 at Pewter Hall in Brownstown.

Dinner will be provided by Pewter Hall and will feature music by Third Generation Band. Tickets are $75 per couple or $37.50 for a single ticket and may be purchased from any sorority member.
