2 face drug charges after traffic stop

Two people were arrested after a traffic stop Wednes-day night on Seymour’s east side.

At about 7:15 p.m., Officer Benjamin Miller with the Seymour Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a car in the area of East Tipton Street and Interstate 65.

Miller found the passenger of the vehicle, identified as Brian Bay, 45, of Columbus, to have an active arrest warrant through Bartholomew County.

When Miller took Bay into custody, he saw a baggie of methamphetamine and a hypodermic syringe inside the vehicle, a report said.

Bay faces charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a hypodermic syringe.

The driver of the vehicle, Megan Greene, 21, of Seymour, also was arrested and faces a charge of possession of methamphetamine.

Both Bay and Greene were taken to the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown, where they are being held without bond pending their initial hearings.

Officer Jim Handley assisted Miller with the investigation.
