Tammy Lyn Boxman, 53, of Columbus, died at 9:25 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, in the inpatient facility of Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Tammy was born March 27, 1962, in Seymour, the daughter of Paul F. and Ruth A. Truex Boxman, both of whom survive in Columbus. 

She graduated from Southwestern Central High School in 1984 and earned her Mechanical Engineering Degree at Valparaiso University. She had been an employee of Cummins Engine Co. for 31 years, serving as an information products senior architect manager. Tammy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Columbus, and had participated in many volunteer activities through Cummins. She enjoyed riding bikes and computer work.

Besides her parents, she is survived by her brother, Ron (Patti) Boxman, Danville, California; her niece, Claire Boxman; and her nephew, Chris Boxman, both of Danville, California; and her faithful friends, Boston terriers Annie and Zoe.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ernest E. and Ethel L. Eichelberry Truex, and her paternal grandparents, Elmer J. and Marie C. Webber Boxman.

There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Garland Brook Cemetery with Pastor John W. Armstrong officiating. Calling will be Tuesday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street.
