Patricia Lee “Patty” Garrett-Shatto, 58, of Seymour, passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Covered Bridge Health Campus.

Born July 22, 1957, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Oliver Garrett and Leona Pearl Williams Nicholson.

A 1976 graduate of Seymour High School, Patty had worked as a CNA at Covered Bridge Health Campus. She also had graduated from House of James Beauty College. She was a baptized member of Calvary Baptist Church. Patty loved crocheting, canning, playing games and camping. She enjoyed spending time with family especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her father, Oliver Garrett of Seymour; daughter, Kendra (Armani) Singh of Seymour; grandchildren, Caroline, Joseph and Anna Sarmiento and Priya Singh; siblings, Pat Garrett and Peggy Wilkerson both of Seymour; a special friend, Barb Ahlbrand; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Patty was preceded in death by her mother; stepfather, Bob Nicholson; and a sister, Joy Helen Bragg.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Covered Bridge Health Campus and Fresenius Dialysis Center as well as Dr. Pikus and Dr. Morin who all gave such great love and care to Patty during her illness.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre, 311 Holiday Square Road. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and then Wednesday from noon until service time. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials may be made at the funeral home to Fresenius Dialysis Center or to Covered Bridge Health Campus.
