Donald Murray, 67, of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center.

Born Jan. 1, 1949, in Shelby County, he was the son of John Edward and Callie McGaha Murray, both of whom preceded him in death. On May 4, 1969, at Wray’s Christian Church in Clearspring, he married Saundra “Sandy” Henderson, who survives.

Donald was a member and elder of Seymour Christian Church in charge of the education department. He also was a Gideon. He retired from Cummins and owned Royale Auto Sales, was an IHSAA basketball official, and a licensed auctioneer. He loved to play softball including playing for the Indiana Legends when they won several championships. He was a collector of small model trains and enjoyed and collected classic cars. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Other survivors include daughter, Teresa (Daniel) Boyd; son, Aaron Murray; grandchildren, Chelsea Abner, Cassidy Abner and Colton Boyd; brothers, Mark (Crystal-Jill) Murray, Robert (Paula) Hardin, Steve Johnson and Phillip Johnson; sister, Paula Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John Edward Murray Jr. and Michael L. “Myke” Murray; sister, Mary Sue Knight; and two infant nieces and a nephew.

A celebration of life will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Seymour Christian Church. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.
