NORTH VERNON

Retha P. Sons, 84, of North Vernon died at 1:34 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at her home.

Survivors include three daughters, Angelia (Doyal Remy) Spellman of Rushville and Beverley (Jim) Coldiron and Lora (Ron) Traylor, both of North Vernon; two sons, James Sons of North Vernon and William (Cheryl) Sons of Butlerville; five sisters, Burdett Parsons, Vivian Wilson, Wilma Eller and Juanita Mott, all of Washington, and Brenda Bateman of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Harvey Milligan of Medora; 16 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Sons; and a daughter, Helen R. Sons.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev. Della Hamilton officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.
