The president and CEO of Schneck Medical Center recently was named one of the 50 Rural Hospital CEOs to Know by Becker’s Hospital Review.

Schneck’s Warren Forgey and Emmett Schuster of Gibson General Hospital in Princeton were the only CEOs named from Indiana.

The Becker’s Review editorial team selected leaders through a review process where a number of factors were considered, including awards received; local, regional, and national leadership positions held; and the organization’s performance.

Forgey was recognized for his leadership and dedication to providing high-quality, accessible care to the community, according to a news release from the Seymour hospital.

He has been instrumental in advancing patient-focused care at Schneck, including leading its most recent expansion and renovation project highlighted by a state-of-the-art cancer center, outpatient care center and emergency department.

Forgey also has achieved significant improvements in operations, accomplishing cost efficiency while increasing patient satisfaction.

Under his leadership, Schneck has earned a debt rating of “A” from Standard and Poor’s and a rating of “A+” from Fitch Ratings.
