Police arrested a Jackson County man this week on a warrant for child molesting after a two-month investigation.

Brandon Scott Jones, 29, of Medora, was booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday without bond.

According to a probable cause affidavit, on Dec. 28, 2015, Jones was at a residence in Seymour when the incident took place.

A witness told police she saw Scott exposing himself to a girl.

The incident was reported to the police.

On Dec. 30, the girl was interviewed at the Children’s Advocacy Center in Dillsboro, where she told the interviewer that Jones had touched her private parts.

A search warrant to obtain a DNA sample from Jones was issued Jan. 4. He submitted to the test and told police he was seeking legal counsel with an attorney in Bedford.

Jackson Circuit Judge Richard W. Poynter set Scott’s bond at $100,000 during his initial hearing Thursday. His trial date was set for 8:30 a.m. June 21.
