Dorene Fleetwood, 87, of Seymour passed away at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at Morning Breeze Nursing Facility in Greensburg.

Dorene was born Jan. 24, 1929, in Kurtz, the daughter of Horace and Maude Fish, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Harold Gene Fleetwood on June 27, 1957, in Acme, and he survives.

Dorene started her career in the grocery business working at Kroger in Seymour, where she met her husband. After Kroger, she worked for Brown’s and Standard Groceries, then JCPenney, where she retired in 1994. Her family was everything to Dorene, and she loved them all.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Debra (Tom) Tormoehlen and Pamela Pearson; son, Kevin (Paula) Fleetwood; grandchildren, Alysha Tormoehlen, Leann (Ryan) May, Matthew Tormoehlen, Michael Pruitt, Chasity Pearson, Tye Fleetwood and Claire Fleetwood; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Jerry (Donna) Fish.

Besides her parents, Dorene was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

The Rev. David Ison will conduct her funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel. Her visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Acme Cemetery.
