Methodist churches collecting food for needy

Area United Methodist churches plan to conduct a food drive from April 30 to May 30 to boost donations to food pantries.

All donations raised through the drive, called “e-Race Hunger,” will go to local food pantries. The “e-Race Hunger” name is in keeping with the race themes of the Kentucky Derby and the Indianapolis 500.

In 2015, donations went to Love Chapel in Columbus, Anchor House Family Assistance Center and Community Provisions of Jackson County Inc. in Seymour, Crothersville Food Bank in Crothersville and Good Samaritan Food Pantry in North Vernon.

For information or to make a nonperishable food or monetary donation, contact your local United Methodist church.
