St. Peter’s Ladies Aid

The Ladies Aid of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church met Feb. 4 in the Brownstown church’s meeting room.

Pastor Jeffrey Patterson opened the meeting with devotions and a prayer. He led the group in singing “Tis Good, Lord, to be Here.”

Joyce Stuckwisch took roll call with eight members present. Dues were collected.

The secretary and treasurer’s reports were read and approved.

A thank-you note was read from the Wilma Wessel family.

Kathy Cunningham reported on visits at the hospital and altar flowers for January.

The funeral committee reported they served 89 meals after the Wilma Wessel funeral. Thanks went to all who helped.

Rose Elmer made a motion and Stuckwisch seconded that the money collected would go for meat for funeral dinners. The motion passed.

A discussion was conducted about asking the congregation to help with sick, shut-in and nursing home visits.

Special thank-you went out to all who helped serve the pastors’ conference.

The Ladies Aid is serving cookies and drinks after two Lenten services. Stuckwisch and Frances Nichols served Feb. 17, and Ileen Nehrt and Bertie Roettger will serve today.

Thanks went to the hostess, Rose Elmer. March hostess will be Cunningham.

The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer.
