Thumbs-up to Seymour native Teri Moren, who was named Big Ten women’s basketball coach of the year in just her second year with the Indiana Hoosiers. Moren coached the squad to a 12-6 Big Ten record and a fourth-place finish in the conference.Joining the clubThumbs-up to Seymour senior Toriek Miller, who finished his high school career with 1,008 points after scoring 16 in the Owls’ 39-38 loss to Floyd Central on March 1 in the Seymour Sectional. Miller became the 16th Seymour boy to reach that plateau.

Thumbs-up to Seymour sophomore Kellsye Warner for advancing to the Columbus East Regional on Saturday in the floor exercise. Warner, who tied for sixth in the Columbus East sectional and placed seventh in the regional.No stoppingThumbs-down to motorists who ignore policemen, fireman and ambulance crews by not pulling over and stopping to let them pass when they are headed to an emergency.
