Sports scholarships are available in memory of Jessica Barkman.

The purpose of the scholarships to financially help young girls strengthen their athletics ability by attending sports camps, play club ball, etc.

The scholarships will be based on financial need, athletics ability and a coach’s recommendation.

Barkman, a 1991 Seymour High School graduate, played volleyball on scholarship at Indiana State University.

She died in a traffic accident in Texas in 1997.

Jessica is remembered and admired for her outstanding talent and strong determination.

Scholarship applications, which are due April 1st, are available at Girls Inc. of Jackson County.
