Plans have been finalized for the annual White River Resource Conservation and Development Wildflower Hike on April 30.

The event will be at Feldun-Purdue Agricultural Center in Lawrence County and will be led by Kay Yatskievych, author of “Field Guide to Indiana Wildflowers,” and Carroll Ritter of Outdoor Connections.

Mark Spreen will be catering a barbecue pork lunch for all hike participants.

Morning and afternoon sessions will be offered. A maximum of 25 people are accepted for each session, and the hikes fill up fast. The morning hike will end with the lunch, and the afternoon hike will begin after lunch.

The cost is $12, which includes lunch. Registration for the morning hike begins at 10 a.m. with the morning hike from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The afternoon hike will be from 1 to about 2:30 p.m.

Feldun-Purdue Agricultural Center is at 1117 State Road 458, west of Bedford.

Participants are encouraged to bring their cameras and wear sturdy shoes. Dogs are not allowed. The hikes will be conducted in light rain but will be canceled in the event of storms.
