Braves fall to Rebels

HANOVER — Despite outhitting Southwestern 7-6 on the game, the Brownstown Central softball team fell short in runs Saturday falling to Southwestern 6-3.

After a scoreless first inning, the Braves took a 2-0 advantage.

The Rebels answered in the bottom of the second with four runs on a pair of RBI singles.

Katelyn Gray scored on a single by Leah Stidam in the third, but the Braves wouldn’t score again in the game as they were handed their second loss of the season.

In the fourth a hit into a fielder’s choice scored the Rebels’ Brittany Barnett.

Abby Ralston’s followed up with a single, bringing home Kayla Adkins to give the Rebels six runs.

Kelsi Brierly recorded the win in the circle for the Rebels and Jami Bryant was charged with the loss, allowing six runs in six innings, walking five and striking out four.

The Braves (0-2) host Bedford North Lawrence today.
